Although Brazil has produced exceptional work for clients for many years, the agency has been a little shy in telling people about them. However, this year is different and we decided to nominate a handful of campaigns that we are particularly proud of.
Happily our efforts paid off and we’ve been shortlisted for three awards so far this year, the latest being the PRCA awards due to take place in November.
Back in May, we set about uncovering the dangers of hazardous parking. Through Freedom of Information requests, we revealed how many parking fines were handed out each year, how many were disputed and how many of those disputes were successful. We also investigated the number of traffic wardens employed per council and tied it in to insurance by highlighting the fact that drivers who park illegally may not be fully covered if their vehicle is damaged.
The numbers were astonishing and the story flew: more than 300 pieces of coverage the week after the story broke, with 15 nationals (such as the Telegraph) and 49 broadcast hits including eight BBC stations, ITV and Sky News.
The coverage was great, but what really made the claim stand out was what it did for the swiftcover.com website. We collaborated with influential websites and bloggers to help spread the word across social platforms and as a direct result, the .com leapt from 11th (page two) on Google to 5th within a day. Traffic increased by 41% in the same period, making an enormous difference in a highly competitive market.
